Record verification
Verify a Result Record
Check the signed agreement, delivery history, and buyer decision. No sign-in needed. Your files stay on this device.
What did you receive?
A receipt link
Open the link the sender shared. Review the agreement, delivered version and buyer decision. Download the verification package there when you need a signature check.
A signed public summary
Open the downloaded summary in the checker and add independently trusted issuer keys. A saved summary cannot establish whether publication is still active.
A PDF or screenshot
A readable copy alone cannot verify the signed history. Ask the sender for a read-only receipt link or the original JSON verification package.
Check a downloaded package
On the receipt, select “Download verification package”. This JSON file contains the record, issuer keys and any included status snapshot. If status is missing or out of date, current status remains unknown.
Choose the original .json download. PDF files and screenshots cannot be checked here.
Supported package formats
Result Packages v1/v2, native buyer records, API proof packages and standard JWS exports are supported. Add your trusted issuer bundle under Advanced; embedded or downloaded keys do not establish their own trust.
2. Confirm the issuer keys
How to confirm the issuer keys
- Obtain the issuer keys from a source your organization trusts. For Prooftask, open the official trust page separately.
- Compare every key ID and full SHA-256 fingerprint below with that trusted source. Also confirm its key status and validity policy.
- If a key is new, changed or unexpected, confirm it through your established contact before trusting it.
Use fingerprints obtained through your trusted channel. This comparison does not confirm the source for you.
These keys identify the signer. Confirm their source through a trusted channel; a key inside a receipt cannot establish its own issuer.
Advanced: separate files or updated status
If your export requires separate issuer keys, choose its signed record above and its issuer keys below. Separate files selected here replace the keys or status included in a package, even when this section is closed.
Get keys through a channel your organization trusts. You can download Prooftask’s current bundle and confirm its fingerprint with your contact.
A status check is fresh for five minutes. To check again, ask a party for a new verification package or use “Check and export current status” in the workspace. Without fresh status, the signed history can still be checked.
Choose a signed JSON copy you already hold for this agreement. Both histories are checked with the same trusted issuer keys. Comparing copies can reveal conflicting history; it does not prove that no other copies exist.
Use a policy approved by your organization after checking the mandate through an independent channel. The sender’s claims cannot approve themselves. How to establish company authority
A valid signature shows that the signed record is unchanged and matches the issuer keys you chose to trust. It does not establish work quality, the truth of external materials, legal authority, or payment. Keep the original files and trust bundle with the result.
Verification help
Three questions before using a record
- What was delivered?
- Read the agreed scope, submission version and supporting materials.
- Who decided, and when?
- Read the attributed buyer decision. Check authority separately when your use requires it.
- What still needs checking?
- Check current status and original files. Acceptance, signature checks and payment are separate facts.
Which format should I keep or share?
- PDF · read and present
- A readable snapshot for a project folder or payment review. It does not check signatures and will not show later changes.
- Verification package · check the signed history
- Download the JSON package from the receipt. It contains the signed record, issuer keys and any included status check. Open it in the browser checker, and confirm the issuer keys through a trusted source.
- JWS · use external signature tools
- Export a standard signed record from More options. Use trusted public keys to check its outer signature; original history and current status need separate checks.
- Read-only link · give someone access
- A link can expire or be revoked. It shows later changes only when the sender allows updates. Check the displayed status and time before using it for a new decision.
For a lasting archive, keep the PDF, verification package and original delivery files together. The package contains file fingerprints and references, not the original file contents.
